Ian graduated from Cambridge 1990 with a wide range of experience of all species commonly found in the UK, including Small animals, Exotics, Fish (Koi), Equines and Farm animals. He has worked all over the UK, and briefly in Australia. He founded Ambleside Vet Clinic in 1998 with the intention of developing a good 1'st opinion Veterinary Practice. In his free time Ian enjoys sailing, walking Amber his beautiful Fox Red Labrador and being involved with the local girls rugby team in which some of his daughters play to a high level.

Anneliese joined the practice in December 2021 having been in companion animal practice since qualifying from the Royal Veterinary College in 1985. She is the proud owner of a huge friendly giant called Ash and a cheeky little Jack Russell called Small. Time away from work is spent with partner David, doing up the house and garden, and playing cello in a local 20 piece cello orchestra.
Anneliese is thoroughly enjoying getting to know her new team mates, and meeting the lovely clients and their pets.

Zoe joined us in July 2022 all the way from her home country of Cyprus.
Zoe has settled in amazingly well and is already an integral part of the team.
Zoe would like to extend her career by studying ophthalmology and internal medicine. Exotics, small animals and wildlife are her working passion.
In her spare time Zoe loves to swim and play the piano and flute. Back in Cyprus Zoe loves to spend time with her beloved dogs Percy and Karma.

Georgie joined the team in September 2024 after graduating from the University of Liverpool. She is a major lover of cats, owning 2 herself called Liquorice and Oreo. In her free time she enjoys watching horror films, doing puzzles, playing games and rock-climbing.

Mari joined the clinic on a full time basis in May 2006 but had completed two periods of work experience here prior to this. Mari moved to the area from North Wales in 2004 and completed her certificate of higher education at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire and graduated in 2006. Mari completed her training at the practice and qualified in April 2011. Mari deals with all the insurance claims within the practice as well as running the nursing team. She is also the clinical coach at the practice, ensuring all the training for any student nurses is completed to a high standard. Mari has worked with a local dog trainer and is hoping to achieve some qualifications within dog behaviour. In her spare time Mari enjoys long walks with her three dogs and keeping fit at a local gym.

Bridie joined the nursing team in May 2015 and became a qualified veterinary nurse in October 2016. She attended Hartpury College in Gloucestershire for her studies. Bridie enjoys the extensive laboratory work that we do here at the practice. In her spare time Bridie helps care for her family's 5 horses, 2 dogs and 2 cats. She enjoys going to the cinema and socialising.

Karen joined the practice in January 2023 after relocating to the area from Bedfordshire.
She started her veterinary nurse training in 2002, and qualified in 2007.
Karen enjoys all aspects of nursing but has a particular interest in diabetes after caring for her own diabetic cat.
She has 2 cats & tropical fish and has previously kept hamsters, rats & guinea pigs.
In her free time Karen enjoys walking, going to the cinema & socialising.
- Jannine Harvey

Jannine joined the clinic in May 2018 as part of our administration team and has since progressed onto becoming our Practice Manager
Jannine came to us with a level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management and has broadened her skill set by completing numerous courses within Human Resources. Ambleside Vets business requirements have grown over the last few years and this has made Jannine’s role within the team essential for the continuation of a smooth running, independant, caring Practice.
Although based upstairs in the main office, Jannine will always make the time to meet with our clients face to face and to make a fuss of their furry friends as these relationships are especially important to her.
A work/life balance is key and Jannine loves nothing more than family time with her 3 daughters, husband and three dogs - Mitsy, Pippi and Ellie.
- Sally Ford

Sally is our friendly receptionist and usually the first face you will see when you visit us.
Sally joined our team in August 2018 and is perfectly placed in her role as she loves the interaction with clients and of course cuddling their furry friends. Previously, Sally was a receptionist in a High school and a PA for a government department prior to starting a family.
In her spare time Sally loves to socialise with her friends, fun days out with her teenage son and daughter and spending time with her beautiful cat-Belle. One of her biggest passions is her love for Cornwall and her lifelong dream is to retire there one day.
- Sally Tarpey

Sally joins us after working in mixed veterinary practices for nine years and an impressive fifteen years with the RSPCA.
Sally has level 5 qualifications from ICAN in Canine Behaviourism and is currently studying for her level 6. Once this is completed Sally will have membership to The Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC) and Animal Behaviour & Training Council (ABTC).
As a loving owner of two Belgian Malinois, three Border Collies, a Cockerpoo and 4 cats, Sally loves the outdoors and exploring with her brood.
